California Workplace Violence Prevention

By the end of this course, learners will understand:
Their company’s legal obligations to create a VPP, inform employees how to obtain a copy of the plan, and give employees an opportunity to participate in the development and implementation of the plan. 
What workplace violence is as defined by California law.
Employees will learn the different types of workplace violence as defined by California law.
Employees will understand warning signs that may be early indicators of possible violence in the workplace.
Employees will understand that they can and should report workplace violence incidents or concerns without fear of reprisal.
Employees will recognize hazards specific to working in the convenience store industry.
Employees will learn general strategies to prevent violence in the workplace.
Employees will learn general strategies to avoid physical harm should violence occur.
Employees will understand the state’s requirement regarding a violent incident log. 
Employees will understand that help is available to them after a violent incident occurs. 
Employees will understand the importance of asking questions of a knowledgeable resource.
